I could definitely make out lines, looked fainter than mine although he has a lighter theme. So what I’m seeing appears to be a trait rather than a fault, although by the sounds of it yours might be different – I wouldn’t describe it as very noticeable.

The moiré pattern on mine is pretty faint, and didn’t concern me enough to bother asking for a replacement. But it happens for about 1 second every 5, and does catch my eye sometimes depending on what’s on screen.

A colleague of mine at work also has an E4300 and hasn’t commented on it, I’ll have a closer look at his tomorrow and see if it’s apparent.

The small screens on the Asus and Acer netbooks are way, way better, I think the screen on this model sacrifices a lot for its slender profile.

I’m in aus and bought an E4300 off ebay (‘new, repacked’). I was sent the wrong one, it was damaged, so the guy’s (very apologetically) sending a new one.

The damaged one had this ‘moiré’ problem. It was very noticeable. Should I expect the new one to have the same thing? Your blog is the ONLY place I could find mention of it. There’s heaps of Sony Vaios with this problem but I couldn’t find any other mentions for a Latitude.

Have you seen any others with this screen problem? Or do you think yours and my first one are simply duds in the minority? I’d really love to find out if you know anything more about them.

Nice blog mate ;) only found it ’cause of the moiré thing.
